Educational visit of students of WMG, University of Warwick

On Friday 12th April we opened our doors to postgraduate students from the EngBM, PPM & SAE courses of University of Warwick to give them an exclusive behind the scenes look into what goes on in our busy factory.

Hosted in our Birmingham facility, the students were given a presentation and a factory tour by our managing director, Stuart Brettell, and sales director, David Hanslow. The students observed various special purpose machines such as rotating glass vision inspection system, robotic handling and bowl feeding systems.

Moreover, a collaborative robot demonstration was also given by our cobot specialist Matt Hallifax to show first hand, real operations in action.

The students come from Manufacturing Systems and Engineering disciplines and some are already working in industry.

Stuart Brettell, managing director of RNA UK said:

‘The students were very engaged and asked searching questions about product development and manufacturing processes. In our view, there has never been a more exciting time for Engineering and this was a great opportunity for us to engage with the engineers of tomorrow.’

RNA actively encourage and support educational visits from universities and other educational-research institutions, hopefully helping to bring engineering to life in a “real world” environment.
